Common Pool Issues
Pools in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, Silverado Ranch and the rest of the greater Las
Vegas Area suffer from a water supply that is very hard, meaning that it has a very high level of
calcium. This hard water takes a toll on the pool’s equipment and can lead to costly repairs. Of
course this process can be slowed down considerably by proper weekly pool maintenance and
monitoring of the chemical levels. Some of the most common issues that we deal with are
listed below.
Repairs and Installation Services
Leaking Pool Filter
Whenever there is leaking water around your pool’s pump and filter, it is an issue that should be
taken care of immediately. Besides from running up your water bill, and wasting water (a very
precious resource in our area) the leaking water can damage pool equipment and plumbing.
Although this is a pressing issue, it is often an quick fix and is due to a broken seal or missing
O-ring, whatever the case, we will diagnose the issue and take the problem off of your plate
Clogged or Broken Pump Impeller
During the Autumn months or one of the frequent summer wind storms that we experience in
Clark County, one of the most common issues are pumps not properly functioning and the
reason for this is usually debris clogging the pump impeller. The job of the filter basket is to
catch large debris before passing through the impeller, however smaller debris can sometimes
pass through and clog the impeller, restricting the pump from working efficiently.
A few signs that your pump impeller may be clogged is if you have little to no filter pressure,
and loud noises while your pump is running. Fortunately for you, our team can unclog your
pump in 1 short visit and get your pool back to prime condition.
Water not circulating properly
Pool water needs to circulate for two main reasons. Number one, just as a stirring spoon mixes
ingredients together in a pot, circulating pool water makes sure that the chemicals evenly
distribute through the entirety of the pool water. This prevents the growth of bacteria and algae,
and makes for a better swimming environment for you and your loved ones. The second
reason is that the process of circulation in a swimming pool involves the water getting pulled
through skimmers and filters to remove debris and then being pumped back into the pool
through the pool’s returns.
There are a number of different reasons why a pool’s water is not properly circulating, and if
you believe this is the case, you should schedule a free inspection with Las Vegas Pool Bros to
diagnose and fix the issue.
Clogged Pool Cleaner
It is becoming more and more common for homeowners to have automated pool cleaning
systems in place, such as robotic cleaners and suction powered pool vacuums. The automated
cleaners are a very valuable cleaning technology, that we highly recommend to our customers
(and often install for them as well). With that being said, the machinery is not immune to
defects and can often times clog with debris.
If you find that your cleaner is no longer crawling along the bottom of your pool, it may be
clogged. This is a pretty easy fix, and Las Vegas Pool Bros will not only unclog the machine,
but give a thorough cleaning to make sure nothing Is obstructing the machine.
